  • Yoga Teacher Training isn't just for those aspiring to teach. It's an enriching experience for anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of yoga. This training offers an in-depth exploration beyond just asana (postures). You'll learn about correct alignment, modifications, and how to practice each pose in a way that's tailored for your body. Gaining knowledge on teaching the postures can significantly enhance your own practice, making you more mindful and aware.

But yoga is more than just asanas. Our training dives into the rich philosophy of yoga, often overlooked in regular classes. You'll uncover the layers of yoga's ancient wisdom, enriching your practice and perspective on life.

Moreover, joining our Yoga Teacher Training connects you with a community of individuals who share your passion for yoga. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in yoga's transformative journey under the guidance of experienced teachers who are passionate about sharing this age-old practice.

Whether you aim to teach or simply wish to deepen your personal practice, our training offers invaluable insights into yoga’s postures, breathwork, anatomy, and philosophy, all within a supportive and inspiring community.

  • Our 200-hour YTT is designed as a foundational course, starting from the basics and progressively building up. You don't need to be a seasoned yogi to join; yoga is about meeting you where you are. The most important requirement is your willingness to step onto your mat and engage with the practice. From there, we journey together, exploring and growing in our understanding of yoga.

  • Flexibility is a key advantage of our online training. All sessions are recorded, so if you miss a live class, you can easily catch up at your convenience.

While certain classes require live attendance for certification, these are scheduled well in advance, providing ample time for you to plan. Attending live sessions is highly beneficial, as it allows direct interaction with our experienced Udaya teachers, who can offer personalised guidance and support.

We understand that life's commitments can sometimes prevent live participation, and that's completely okay! Our Online Platform ensures that you won't miss out, allowing you to stay on track with the course material. Additionally, for those who might miss several live asana practice sessions, we offer the option of one-on-one private classes. This ensures that you receive the comprehensive training experience and make the most of your yoga journey with us.

  • We strive to make our YTT program financially accessible. You have the option to pay for the training incrementally, spanning the duration of the course. If your financial circumstances necessitate an extended payment plan, we're open to discussing personalized arrangements. Please feel free to email us, and we'll be happy to explore options that work best for you.

  • We firmly believe that financial constraints shouldn't prevent anyone from accessing the transformative power of yoga. If you're passionate about joining our YTT but are facing financial hurdles, we encourage you to reach out to us. Send us an email or give us a call. Our team is more than willing to discuss various options and find a way to support you in your journey to becoming a yoga practitioner or teacher. Yoga is for everyone, and we're committed to helping make that a reality for you.

  • Our yoga training is designed to be dynamic and immersive, with each week bringing new areas of focus and learning. Here’s what a typical week in our program looks like:

Monday to Thursday Mornings (6:30 AM SAST): Start your day with an invigorating Vinyasa yoga practice or a calming meditation session. These morning sessions set the tone for the day and help deepen your personal practice.

Weekday Afternoons (Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00 PM SAST):

Tuesdays: Dive into the theoretical aspects of yoga. Our curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including the eight limbs of yoga, Ayurveda, Anatomy, energy anatomy, and even the business side of yoga.

Thursdays: Participate in our Asana Lab & Teaching Methodology classes. These sessions are designed to deepen your understanding of asana alignment, techniques, and modifications. We also focus on teaching methods, including sequence creation, verbal instruction techniques, and student assistance. Engaging teaching exercises, often conducted in small groups, foster a fun and interactive learning environment, helping you connect with fellow trainees.

Weekend Intensives: Throughout the course, we also host weekend intensives, which range from additional classes to specialised workshops. These intensives are designed to provide deeper insights into specific areas of yoga and enhance your overall learning experience.

This structured yet flexible schedule ensures that each week is filled with comprehensive learning, practice, and community building, all aimed at enhancing your journey through yoga teacher training.

  • Upon successfully completing all your examinations, you will be awarded a certificate, officially recognising you as a certified yoga teacher. This certification opens doors to teaching opportunities at yoga studios, gyms, and even for private sessions.

Moreover, our transition to online training has fostered an even stronger, connected community. As a graduate of our initial 200-hour YTT, you are invited to join any future 200-hour training sessions with Udaya Studio at no additional cost. This ongoing access allows you to continually refresh your skills and stay connected with the evolving yoga community.

  • Our training program is structured to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience:

We meet via Zoom from Monday to Thursday, and once/twice a month on Saturdays & Sundays. Mornings are dedicated to asana practice or meditation, creating a solid routine and connection to the practice. In the afternoons, we delve into the exciting world of theory, where we discuss yoga philosophy, its origins, and its relevance in a modern context. We also cover posture analysis, modifications of asana, and the art of sequencing and teaching yoga classes.

While we recommend attending live classes for a more interactive experience, we understand that life can be unpredictable. Therefore, all live sessions are recorded and uploaded to our online classroom. This ensures that you can keep up with the course at your own pace, whether you join live or catch up later.

Our online program is designed to maintain the integrity, depth, and personalised experience you would expect from a studio-based teacher training – with an added element of fun! We engage in extensive teaching practice, ensuring that by the time you graduate, you feel confident and prepared to guide your own classes. Additionally, our program features incredible guest lecturers who share insights on movement, anatomy, inversions, and philosophy.

Our aim is to provide an enriching, accessible, and enjoyable learning environment that equips you with the knowledge and confidence to excel as a yoga teacher.
