Exploring the Power of Breath
Coherent Breath & Dynamic Breathwork
Breath is the bridge between body and mind—a tool that can shift us from stress to calm in just a few moments. Lately, I’ve been diving deeper into breathwork practices on Insight Timer, and I wanted to share two of my favorite techniques with you.
The first is Coherent Breath, a simple yet effective practice where we breathe in and out through the nose at a steady pace—about 5 to 6 seconds per inhale and exhale. This helps synchronize the nervous system and brings the body into a state of balance, promoting relaxation and clarity.
The second is Dynamic Breathwork, a more energizing practice. In this method, we breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, creating a rhythmic and steady flow of breath without holding or retaining it. This style is perfect for releasing pent-up tension and creating space for new energy.
Cautions: Dynamic breathwork should be avoided if pregnant, high blood pressure, recovering from surgery, heart ailments or suffering with any anxiety disorders.
Remember to listen to your body. This is your practice, I am simply the guide :). Only practice what is making you feel good—and leave out the rest.
Both practices are powerful in their own ways, whether you're looking to calm your mind or invigorate your body.
I hope these breathwork practices inspire you to reconnect with your breath and find a moment of peace and joy in your day.
